Business Kroes saves Vodafone
2014/01/27AT&T will not make it’s anticipated bid for Vodafone after it’s CEO, Randall Stephenson, met EC vp Neelie Kroes in Davos last week.
“At the request of the U.K. takeover panel, AT&T confirms that it does not intend to make an offer for Vodafone,” said AT&T in a statement to the London Stock Exchange.
Vodafone had been seen as a takeover target after it sold its stake in US operator Verizon for £130 billion.
That deal is due to complete in February,
AT&T has been seen as wishing to expand in Europe and may now set it sights on ER.
